Loader Operator

Metro Construction has been a leader in the underground utilities industry in the Sioux Falls area for the last 30 years. We are searching for Loader Operators with experience around underground utility work. Our fleet of equipment at Metro Construction is the best of its class in this industry. Our goal is to have all employees home with their family each night. Most job sites are located within 30 miles of Sioux Falls giving our employees the ability of going home every night.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Load and unload trucks
  • Lay out materials for pipe laying crews
  • Communicate with the excavator operators, truck drivers, and pipe layers to make sure they have the materials needed to complete their tasks
  • Be flexible to help in other areas outside of the loader if the loader is not needed at that moment

Basic Qualifications

  • General knowledge of underground utility work including materials, methods, and tools involved in the installation
  • Ability to load various types of trailers safely and effectively with trench boxes, buckets, rock boxes, and extra pipe and materials
  • Great at communicating
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to take direction
  • Be able to do some heavy lifting around the loader and job site
  • Ability to work extended hours during the construction season
